Student Code of Conduct
Momentous is designed to be a time of equipping and encouraging you in your faith. Our expectation is that we all conduct ourselves as Christ’s ambassadors, that we demonstrate wisdom and maturity in our decisions, and that we walk in accordance with Scripture.
We encourage all students to prioritize their relationship with God first. Set aside daily time to spend with Jesus in Scripture, prayer, and personal devotion.
Students are expected to walk in maturity and conduct themselves like Christian adults. You are responsible for your actions, completing schoolwork, spending time with the Lord regularly, and taking care of your property.
Students should be respectful of each other, each other’s time, and each other’s property. Conflicts should be handled appropriately with grace and truth.
Students are required to participate in Bible study, Momentous classes, trainings, programs, and activities.
Students will not consume alcohol, smoke or vape, use marijuana or other illegal drugs. In addition, unrated, MA-rated, and inappropriate R-rated movies will not be allowed.
Male students are not permitted to be in a female’s room, nor a female in a male’s room.
Students will for their safety, let someone know where they are going. There are plenty of spaces on camp for alone time and plenty of activities to do such as hiking, biking, etc., but you will need to let someone know where you are going. Overall, we encourage you to go with someone!
Students are expected to dress appropriately and modestly.
We understand that students can develop feelings for one another. However, we ask that students do not date during the Fall Semester. If the occasion arises during the Spring Semester, we ask that you talk with a staff person before pursuing a relationship. Furthermore, all dating will be held to Biblical standards. There should be no exclusion (no male/female one-on-one time) or inappropriate displays of affection by students (for example, no snuggling, no heads on shoulders or laps, no kissing, etc.)
We ask that students would notify a Momentous Staff person and/or follow set procedures before leaving the camp property.
Students are to follow Glorieta Camp guidelines. Please do your part to take care of Glorieta Camp. Pick up after yourself, pick up trash when you see it, keep the common areas clean, keep your living area clean and free from scattered laundry. Weekly clean-up of the common areas and personal rooms is mandatory and if not followed may disqualify you from the weekly fun activities.
These are general guidelines and we expect all students to govern themselves as ambassadors for Christ and representatives of Momentous to Glorieta Camp. A violation of our code of conduct could result in being sent home without a refund.
