Do you offer college credit?

No, Momentous does not offer college credit. We allow designated time throughout the week for students to take online classes from the college of their choice.

Are there tutors available to help with academics?

Tutors are not available on-site to help with online education. However, most online educational programs have resources available to help with your online education.

Are college classes required to attend Momentous?

No, if you are not currently interested in college, you can enjoy all of the benefits of Momentous through our work program. See our WORK PROGRAM for more details.

What denomination are you affiliated with?

We are an interdenominational Christian ministry. See our STATEMENT OF FAITH.

Is there an age limit for students?

Yes, the age limit is aged 17-24.

What are the student requirements?

• High School Diploma or equivalent (exception for qualifying high school seniors)
• Enrolled in an online education program or our work program
• Appreciates learning both inside and outside the classroom
• Willing to travel and participate in wilderness adventures
• Desire to learn and grow in Christian faith and Biblical knowledge

What is a qualifying high school senior?

A student who is at least 17 years of age and is enrolled in an online education program taking clep, dual-credit, or college courses.

• Students wanting to grow in their faith in a healthy Christian community.
• Students needing a year to prepare for college.

What if I'm not outdoorsy, is this program for me?

• If you have little outdoor experience, every adventure will be a step outside of your comfort zone, but also a chance to trust God and his people.
• All of our outdoor adventures are led by a certified Christian guide who will keep you safe both physically and emotionally. We want the adventures to help you understand and apply Biblical truths in a healthy, non-threatening way.

Can I apply for just one semester?

Yes. The program is designed to be participated in for the fall semester only. However, you’ll probably want to join us for the entire school year!

How do I guarantee a spot?

You will need to fill out an application and put down a $500 deposit to guarantee your spot.

Do I need to put down a deposit?

Yes, the program deposit is $500, which will be applied toward your total cost. Your deposit is required to guarantee your price and your spot in our program.

Is the $500 deposit refundable?

If we need to cancel our program due to COVID-19, then we will issue a full refund of your $500 deposit. Otherwise, it is non-refundable.

When is the full amount due for the 2023-2024 program?

Can I use a 529 college savings plan towards the cost?

In most cases, yes. Momentous is considered off-campus housing and is the same price as the average college room and board cost of $12,000. Therefore, for most colleges, we qualify as off-campus housing for the savings plan. However, certain colleges have extended stipulations, so we encourage you to check with your college to confirm that your 529 plan can be used.

WHAT PRECAUTIONS ARE YOU TAKING TO PROTECT STUDENTS FROM COVID-19?

We are following state and federal guidelines and recommendations. Furthermore, the maximum number of students and the off-site activities we can allow will be dictated by these guidelines. CAN SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS BE ACCOMMODATED?

Yes, special dietary needs can be accommodated for an additional fee as long as we are notified beforehand.

IS IT NECESSARY TO HAVE A CAR?

It would be helpful to have a vehicle, but not necessary.

WHERE DO I FLY INTO?

You can fly into either the Albuquerque International Sunport or Santa Fe Airport. You will be responsible for transportation to and from the airport.

Yes! Visitors can also stay at one of the on-site hotels at the camp for a small fee, which is definitely encouraged!
